Privacy Policy
How information is used when you browse, sign in or contribute to the directory.
Last updated:Information and its purpose
- Sign-in information. When sign-in is enabled, Amazon Cognito handles authentication. The application uses a signed identity token, account identifier and editor-group status to verify access and authorise changes. The sign-in flow requests email access. Club Atlas does not receive your password.
- Contributions. Club records, source URLs, uploaded photographs and captions are processed to publish and maintain the directory. Saved records can include the editor’s account identifier and the time of the update.
- Browser preferences. Shortlisted club IDs and comparison selections are stored locally in your browser so they remain available on your next visit.
- Technical information. Hosting and external service providers receive connection information such as your IP address, requested resource and browser details when serving pages, images, fonts or map tiles. Operational logging depends on the hosting configuration.
- Enquiries. If you contact the directory, the details you choose to send are used to understand and respond to your request.
What becomes public
Club profiles, source links, business contact details, captions and published photographs are visible to directory visitors. Processed photo uploads may be publicly accessible before a gallery is saved. Do not submit identity documents, private contact information or sensitive personal information. Photograph processing removes embedded metadata, but cannot remove personal details visible within an image.
Services involved
The application supports Amazon Web Services for hosting, authentication, catalogue storage and image delivery. Google Fonts serves the site’s fonts. The interactive map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap when opened. Some photographs may load from their credited source websites, depending on deployment.
Following source links, opening Google Maps directions or contacting a listed club takes you to another provider. Those providers handle information under their own policies. Club Atlas does not include advertising trackers or a third-party analytics integration in the current application.
Storage and retention
Sign-in cookies are short-lived: authentication-flow cookies last up to ten minutes and the application session cookie lasts up to one hour. Your shortlist and comparison selections remain in browser storage until you remove them or clear site data.
Published catalogue contributions, associated editor identifiers and uploaded media are retained to maintain the directory and its history. Removing a photo from a gallery does not automatically delete the stored image. Hosting logs, backups and account records follow the administrator’s provider configuration; this page does not promise a fixed deletion period for those records.
Your choices and requests
You can browse the public directory without an editor account, clear browser storage, block cookies or avoid opening the map and external links. Blocking sign-in cookies prevents authentication. Read Cookies & Storage for details.
For questions, access or correction requests, account concerns, or removal of personal information or photographs, use Contact & corrections. Include the relevant page URL and enough detail to identify the information. Do not send passwords or identity documents. The administrator may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Policy updates
We will update this page when the application’s handling of information changes. The date above identifies the current version.
